Kochi.co is a city information portal operated by Gallivant Ventures LLP. We aggregate publicly available social media content, news, and civic information related to Kochi, Kerala, India.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit kochi.co or use our associated mobile application. By using our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
02 — Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information:
Information you provide directly
- Email address or contact details, if you contact us via email
- Data deletion requests submitted by emailing follow@kochi.co or through our social handles
- Any communications you send to us through our social media handles
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, time spent, browser type, device type, and referring URL, collected via our analytics tools
- IP address — used for approximate geolocation (city level) and security purposes; not stored beyond session logs
- Cookies and local storage — used to remember your category preferences and session state; see Section 06 for details
We do not collect your name, phone number, home address, financial information, or government ID unless you provide it voluntarily when contacting us.
03 — How We Use Your Information
- To serve the Kochi.co portal and display aggregated social media content
- To remember your content category preferences between sessions
- To respond to your enquiries, support requests, and data deletion requests
- To monitor and improve site performance, security, and uptime
- To comply with applicable Indian law and our legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting or profiling.
04 — Third-Party Services
Kochi.co integrates with third-party services to function. Each service operates under its own privacy policy.
When you interact with embedded social media content (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube), those platforms may collect data about your interaction according to their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to that data.

07 — Data Retention
- Server logs — retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted
- Email correspondence — retained for 12 months from last communication
- Data deletion requests — retained for 3 years for legal compliance
- Analytics data — anonymised and retained for up to 26 months
- Cookie/session data — expires as per the session or within 12 months

- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent to processing at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us or with the Data Protection Board of India

09 — Children's Privacy
Kochi.co is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our platform, please contact us at follow@kochi.co and we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.
10 — Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through our social media handles or via email.
Continued use of Kochi.co after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
